What Cologne Is Ashton Kutcher’s Favorite?

Ashton Kutcher has a couple of different colognes that he endorses, these are Arpege Perfume, and John Varvatos Perfume, let’s take a closer look at both of these fragrances.

John Varvatos

The John Varvatos fragrance is a beautiful balance: a fruit-forward opening, followed by the deeper, more mysterious notes of the

Tamarind and fig leaves. Addd the plum, thyme, amber, vanilla, and hints of oud, and you get a unique and surprisingly sweet and creamy scent.

It doesn’t last as long as you might expect, but it’s a very well-constructed fragrance.

The dry down, although a bit subtle, is very pleasant. It’s a people-pleasing fragrance that has a strong emphasis on masculine scents, and whilst it doesn’t last too long on the skin, it’s a small price to pay for a fragrance with such depth and broad scents.

But its also perfect for a night out, or a classy date. It’s quite the all-rounder.

Not to mention the elegance and classy nature of the bottle that the fragrance is stored in. 

Arpège Pour Homme

The original Arpège for women was created in 1927 for the fashion house Lanvin. The story goes that it was created at the request of Jeanne Lanvin as a present for her daughters birthday)

This was a huge fragrance, up there with Chanel No. 5 as one of the all-time most popular scents. So its a bit surprising really that it took until 2005 for the release of Arpège Pour Homme.

This fragrance had a mixed reaction when it was released.

With its pink pepper and bitter orange top notes, and strong florals (very heavy on the jasmin during the dry-down) many people found this overly sweet, and not terribly masculine for a “pour homme” version.

The perfume was intended as a balanced scent – with the dry peppery top notes, the strong floral middle (iris, jasmin) and a tonka bean/sandalwood base. While it certainly had its fans, the line was discontinued.

Ashton Kutcher’s Scent Style

Let’s assume that these scents reflect Ashton’s own choices and preferences. (It’s possible they are purely commercial endorsements, but most celebrities endorse products that fit with their own personal brand – and with something as personal as fragrance its likely they would not wear something they felt wasn’t “them” just for an endorsement deal)

So as we can see from the combination of various fragrances, Ashton Kutcher’s favorite scent style would range around the deeper, and more mysterious categories, opting in for heavier and more complex flavors like dates and figs, but with a perhaps surprising sweetness, not overemphasizing the heaviest flavors like leather and wood.
