Eau Fraiche

Also known as: Eau Fraîche

A term used for light, fresh fragrances, often listed around 1–3% in concentration guides. It can also be part of a perfume’s name, so check the labelled format.

Eau Fraiche, also written Eau Fraîche, appears in fragrance guides as a very light format. The Perfume Shop lists a 1–3% concentration range. For an individual product, check what the maker actually calls it and whether it discloses a percentage.

The words also appear in perfume names. Versace Man Eau Fraîche is sold as an Eau de Toilette. Its name describes the fragrance line rather than establishing that it belongs in a 1–3% category.

Look at the product’s ingredients and directions if its carrier or use matters to you. Eau Fraiche on a label does not, by itself, tell you that the formula is alcohol-free. To choose a fresh scent, compare the citrus, green or watery character you enjoy and how the finished fragrance develops.
