Tester

A fragrance bottle intended for customers to try, commonly at a shop counter. In a sales listing, tester may also describe a bottle supplied with different packaging from the regular retail presentation.

At a fragrance counter, a tester lets you try a particular perfume before choosing a bottle or sample. Check its full name and concentration so you know which version you are smelling.

When buying a bottle listed as a tester, read the seller’s description of its packaging and condition. Some listings distinguish testers from unboxed retail bottles, and a cap or decorative carton may be absent. Ask what is included and whether the bottle is unused or has a stated remaining fill.

Compare the exact size and version with the regular presentation, especially for a gift. The word tester is a description to investigate alongside the seller and condition, rather than evidence of a stronger formula or authentication of a particular bottle.
