Armaf: The UAE House Behind Club de Nuit and the Aventus Dupe Wars

Armaf’s Club de Nuit range offers several quite different routes into fragrance: fruity woods, cool citrus and florals, or a marine scent. Intense Man is the one to investigate if Creed Aventus interests you, but the concentration on the bottle matters as much as the Club de Nuit name.

Which Club de Nuit should you choose?

FragranceMain directionStart here if you want
Intense Man EDPCitrus, pineapple, birch and muskFruit with a woody base
Sillage EDPCitrus, ginger, florals and musky woodsA cool, sharper fresh scent
Milestone EDPRed fruits, marine notes and pale woodsA fruitier seaside direction

These are all Club de Nuit fragrances. Sillage and Milestone are separate products, rather than alternative names for Intense Man.

Club de Nuit Intense Man: fruit and birch

Armaf’s Intense Man EDP lists apple, bergamot, blackcurrant, pineapple and lemon above rose, birch and jasmine. Musk, ambergris, patchouli and vanilla form the base. Choose it for that fruit-and-wood combination; a listed pineapple note doesn’t make it a purely tropical fragrance.

The Aventus comparison is a major part of wearer discussion. In that thread, an owner who liked the EDT found the EDP smoother, while another EDP buyer still found its opening synthetic. That’s the useful buying question: how much do you enjoy the opening as well as the later woody scent?

Armaf sells EDT and other Intense Man editions too. When you read a review or order a sample, match the full concentration and edition. A review of the EDT won’t necessarily describe the EDP you’re considering. Our concentration guide explains the labels.

Club de Nuit Sillage: citrus with a floral middle

Sillage’s notes include bergamot, lemon, lime, ginger, blackcurrant and violet leaves, followed by jasmine, iris and rose. Sandalwood, cedar, musk and ambroxan sit underneath. It belongs on your shortlist if you like fresh perfume with a floral middle rather than Intense Man’s birch direction.

Its metallic character divides opinion. The author of this Sillage discussion loves the citrus-metallic freshness; a commenter likes the fragrance but finds it somewhat synthetic. If metallic freshness sounds intriguing, sample Sillage. If it sounds like the part of fresh fragrances you dislike, try Milestone first.

Club de Nuit Milestone: fruit and marine notes

Milestone opens with bergamot, red fruits and marine accords. Violet, sandalwood and white wood lead into vetiver, musk and ambroxan. It’s the more obvious choice here for someone seeking a seaside direction rather than citrus and birch.

The marine accord is the deciding feature. Choose Intense Man if you want fruit with woods; choose Milestone if the watery side is what draws you in. Don’t buy Sillage expecting Milestone merely because both appear in the same range.

Buying the right bottle

Check the full product name, concentration, bottle size and seller before ordering. Retailer shipping and fragrance-return policies vary, especially after opening a bottle.

For another Aventus interpretation, ALT’s Executive gives you a clearly named reference to compare. Lattafa’s Yara, Asad and Khamrah take you toward vanilla, spice and sweeter gourmands. If you’re choosing between houses, the dupe-house guide is a useful starting point.
