Perfumes That Smell Like Candy

Candy perfumes don’t all deliver the same sweetness. Prada Candy EDP pairs caramel with musk and benzoin. DIME 7 Summers brings pear, lavender, whipped cream and coconut into the mix. Ariana Grande Sweet Like Candy EDP takes a fruit-and-marshmallow direction.

Start with the kind of sweet you actually want. A caramel perfume with powdery musk will feel different from berries and marshmallow, even when both have candy in the name.

Prada Candy Eau de Parfum: caramel with musk and resin

Prada Candy EDP features caramel accord, white musk and benzoin resin. Try it first if you want sweetness with a powdery, musky character rather than a fruit-led perfume.

One wearer loved its soft powder and smoked-caramel impression, followed by balsamic benzoin. Another could barely detect caramel and found that the powdery opening turned into a baby-wipe smell on skin. The musk and powder are a reason to try Candy, but they may also be why it doesn’t deliver the edible caramel someone expects.

DIME 7 Summers: cream, coconut and a fresh opening

DIME’s 7 Summers opens with bergamot, pear and lavender blossom. Vanilla orchid, whipped cream and coconut sit over blonde woods, Ambrox and musk. This is the option to explore if cream and coconut appeal alongside the sugar.

A wearer who doesn’t usually enjoy vanilla liked the blend’s tartness and musky drydown. Another enjoyed a sample enough to buy a bottle but was disappointed by how quickly it faded in everyday wear. If the name suggests an especially light citrus scent to you, expect a substantial sweet component instead.

Ariana Grande Sweet Like Candy Eau de Parfum: fruit and marshmallow

Sweet Like Candy opens with blackberry, bergamot and pear, followed by jasmine sambac, frangipani and honeysuckle. Crème de cassis, marshmallow, cashmere woods and vanilla make up the base. Choose this direction when berries and fluffy sweetness sound more appealing than caramel resin.

One wearer enjoyed its juicy pear, berries and citrus freshness, comparing it to hard fruit candies. Another loved the opening and middle but found the drydown barely noticeable. Those are two separate things to assess: whether you enjoy the sweetness, and whether its later presence is enough for you.
