Best Perfumes That Smell Like Fig

Diptyque Philosykos EDT, Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi EDT and D.S. & Durga Debaser EDP show three different sides of fig: leafy and milky, citrus-fruity, or richer fruit with coconut and woods. Choose by the combination you want rather than expecting every fig perfume to smell like a ripe fruit.

Philosykos Eau de Toilette: The Fig-Tree Approach

Diptyque describes Philosykos EDT as a tribute to the whole fig tree, bringing together leaves, sap, fruit and wood. The idea comes from memories of walking through a fig grove at Mount Pelion in Greece.

Start here if green leaves and a milky scent sound as appealing as the fruit itself. It is a more relevant comparison for that wish than choosing a perfume simply because it has a sweet fruit note.

One EDT wearer finds green fig becoming softly milky and wants to wear it again despite it being outside their usual style. Another loves a fresh, lightly creamy fruit impression, but finds it can become cloying in a warm room. Give it a wear in the setting where you plan to use it, as well as a quick smell on a card.

Philosykos also comes as an EDP. The Eau de Toilette is the version discussed here; use EDT-specific reviews when comparing these impressions.

Fico di Amalfi Eau de Toilette: Citrus and Fig Nectar

Acqua di Parma’s Fico di Amalfi EDT opens with lemon, bergamot and grapefruit. Fig nectar, pink pepper and jasmine sit at the heart, followed by fig wood, cedarwood and benzoin. It is the option to try first if you want fig paired with bright citrus.

One wearer enjoys its green, fresh character and soft sweetness, and is happy with how it lasts. Another likes the smell in hot, humid weather but finds its projection and lasting power disappointing. Decide whether you like the later fig-and-wood scent as well as the initial citrus.

Look for the Blu Mediterraneo Eau de Toilette. Fico di Amalfi La Riserva is a separate fragrance to research rather than another bottle size of this one.

Debaser Eau de Parfum: Fig, Coconut Milk and Tonka

D.S. & Durga’s Debaser puts bergamot, green leaf and pear stem above a heart of fig, coconut milk and iris. Blond woods, tonka bean and moss complete its note pyramid. It is a useful comparison when you want fruit with a creamy element and a woody base.

One person who samples it in a shop enjoys its full, earthy fig, with bergamot adding tartness and woods and moss giving depth. They do not particularly notice coconut milk. Another wearer loves the green, juicy opening but finds the drydown plasticky. If coconut is your main reason for choosing it, check how clearly it comes through for you.

The name references the Pixies song. Our D.S. & Durga profile covers that connection and more of the house’s work. Debaser in Bloom is a different release, so match the full name when buying or reading reviews.

Choosing a Pair to Try

Compare Philosykos EDT with Fico di Amalfi EDT for a leaf-and-sap direction against citrus and fig nectar. Put Debaser alongside either if you are curious about coconut milk, tonka and a fuller fruit-and-wood combination.

If it is the wood rather than the fruit you keep enjoying, these woody perfumes offer other floral and sweet combinations. For warmer spiced woods, move to the sandalwood list.
