Fabulous Perfumes That Smell Like Lavender

Lavender can sit beside orange blossom, warm vanilla or musky neroli. YSL Libre EDP, Mon Guerlain EDP and Le Labo Lavande 31 EDP give you three ways to compare those combinations.

Libre EDP: Orange Blossom and Lavender

YSL describes original Libre EDP through French lavender, Moroccan orange blossom, musk and vanilla. Choose it first if you want lavender set against white flowers, with sweetness underneath.

One wearer normally dislikes lavender but buys a bottle after finishing a sample, especially enjoying the vanilla and orange blossom in the drydown. Another finds it too powdery and sweet. Give the later floral-vanilla scent a wear if you are choosing Libre specifically for lavender.

The original EDP is the version here. Libre Intense, Le Parfum and the other flankers have their own compositions.

Mon Guerlain EDP: Lavender, Jasmine and Vanilla

Guerlain’s Mon Guerlain EDP highlights French lavender, jasmine sambac, sandalwood and vanilla tahitensis. It is the comparison to try when vanilla and creamy woods appeal as much as the lavender.

One owner finishes a bottle and expects to replace it despite trying to reduce their collection. Another likes it on a paper strip but finds the lavender harsh and cleaning-product-like on skin. Try it on skin as well as a card before choosing it for a soft lavender impression.

This section covers Mon Guerlain EDP, rather than Intense, EDT or a hair mist.

Lavande 31: Bergamot, Neroli and Musk

Le Labo’s Lavande 31 opens its description with bergamot and neroli, then lavender, with ambery and musky notes blended with tonka. Start here when citrus and musk interest you more than a vanilla-and-jasmine combination.

One bottle owner grows to love the warmth of the musk and the lavender edge, comparing the effect to freshly dried laundry. Another finds the neroli overpowers the lavender and the scent is too soapy. If lavender is your main reason for buying, check how much you notice beside the neroli.
