Byredo Oboro Is Japan-Only — Here's What It Smells Like

Byredo Oboro is a Japan-exclusive Eau de Parfum by Jérôme Epinette. Now Smell This reported its launch in July 2026 in a 100 ml bottle. The name means “hazy” or “blurry”; the notes bring together citrus, flowers and a mineral accord rather than a straightforward sweet amber.

The notes

Byredo’s Japanese product page lists:

The mineral accord is the feature to focus on if you like rain-on-stone impressions alongside flowers. Salted amber is a scent description, not a disclosure of the formula’s individual aroma chemicals.

What wearers like and dislike

One owner enjoys its peppery citrus, light violet and concrete-like character, followed by salty amber and incense. Another likes the airy, fresh opening but finds it fades too quickly. Their wearer discussion suggests two useful sampling questions: do you enjoy the floral-mineral combination, and does the wear time suit you?

If flowers are your priority, Byredo Inflorescence puts freesia, lily of the valley, magnolia and jasmine at the center. If you prefer citrus with a sugary, musky character, explore Byredo Sundazed. Neither is a substitute for trying Oboro itself.

Before buying

Check Byredo Japan’s product page for bottle sizes, store details and delivery terms. A sample or counter visit is a useful first step before arranging an international purchase, particularly if you are unsure about mineral notes or expect strong projection.
