Jean Paul Gaultier La Favorite is a floral-amber Eau de Parfum built around Queen of the Night flowers, benzoin and tonka. Its sculptural bottle places a figure inside the glass, a visual nod to the house’s Fragile bottle. Start with a sample if you enjoy white flowers with warm, sweet resinous notes.
What is in La Favorite?
The official product page highlights Queen of the Night, benzoin and tonka. Launch coverage credits Amélie Jacquin and Quentin Bisch and also lists jasmine sambac, rose, ylang ylang, Virginia cedar, vanilla and white musk.
Fragrance Notes
Try it for the floral-and-amber direction, then notice whether you prefer the flowers at the start or the warmer finish. The figure inside the bottle is part of its presentation; sample the scent itself before choosing it for the design.
What wearers like—and what they dislike
One wearer enjoys the green white flowers, amber and vanilla. Another initially finds the scent soapy but increasingly likes the warm tonka-and-vanilla drydown. A further sampler enjoys the ambery floral with a light cinnamon-like impression, while finding it settles close to the skin sooner than they want.
Other samplers dislike the development. One gets an unwanted powdery-vanilla shampoo resemblance; another finds the flowers too soapy before vanilla softens the scent. Compare the opening and later wear if powdery or soapy florals are a concern for you.
Where it fits in the range
La Favorite adds a floral-amber direction alongside the house’s existing fragrances. Gaultier Divine was introduced in 2023, as recorded in Puig’s annual report, and remains part of the current range. For another sweet direction, La Belle EDP combines pear, vetiver and vanilla.
La Favorite’s bottle reference to Fragile does not make it the same perfume. Choose it for the composition you enjoy wearing, and check the Eau de Parfum name, bottle size and refill compatibility on your regional product page. Body cream and body oil are separate formats. The Gaultier directory offers more versions to compare.
