Amouage Decision 42 and Overture 41 make concentration part of their names: the manufacturer states 42% for Decision 42 and 41% for Overture 41. Introduced in September 2026, they reinterpret Decision and Overture Woman respectively.
For someone choosing a bottle, the differences in composition are more useful than the one-point gap between them. Decision 42 explores aromatic woods and resins; Overture 41 combines a boozy opening with flowers, spice and amber warmth.

One owner comparing Decision 42 with the original on opposite arms enjoyed the extrait’s smoke and woodier drydown but would narrowly choose the original if limited to one. Another participant found Decision 42 brighter and lighter. Try both if the balance of brightness and smoke determines which you prefer.

Overture 41, created by Annick Ménardo, revisits Overture Woman. Check that full name when looking for its original counterpart; Overture Man is a separate fragrance.

The same owner’s Overture comparison favored 41 for its boozier opening and heavier feel. They still found it close enough to Overture Woman that owning both could feel redundant. They also found its opening less loud than the original: a higher stated concentration need not mean the impression you notice first is stronger.
What the concentration number tells you
The percentage helps identify the version. It does not tell you which composition you will enjoy more, how far it will project on you or how many hours you will want to wear it. Here, Amouage has changed the balance of notes as well as the concentration, so compare the fragrances themselves.
Sample each extrait beside its corresponding original, keeping the application similar. Compare the opening, return to the samples later and consider whether the differences give you another fragrance you want to wear. If you already own the original, decide whether you want to replace it or keep both.
