Whoever you are, you’ll probably know, or have heard of the name Brad Pitt. He’s a massive name in Hollywood, and for all the right reasons. He’s a multi award winning actor, and is widely regarded as one of the sexiest men in all of Hollywood.
So in this article we’ll be going over some of the different colognes that he wears, and try to work out his scent style. So without further ado let’s get started.
What Are Scent Styles?
Scent styles are the basis for fragrances that we like to wear. Over time everyone will develop their own personal scent style, and they’re all individual to each person.
In the fragrance world, grouping families of smells that are similar is a way to break down and classify how a perfume smells rather than what it contains.
There’s 4 different groups of smell types, these are Floral, Oriental, Woody, and Fresh.
Chances are you’ll already have a basic understanding of what scent type you’ll like the most from these 4 different categories, but there are many more subgroups that you can get more specific with. These include:
- Soft Floral
- Floral oriental
- Soft oriental
- Woody oriental
- Mossy wood
- Dry wood
From this list you’d be sure to be able to pick out a favorite fragrance or two, and Brad Pitt certainly did.
What Cologne Is Brad Pitt’s Favorite
Brad Pitt currently wears the cologne Musk by Lorenzo Villoresi which is worth roughly $150. It’s a fairly open ended and inoffensive smell that just permeates into the nose.
Whilst having quite a few attributes that you’d usually associate with masculine colognes, this is certainly a unisex fragrance, so it’s perfect for everyone. Let’s break down some of the smelling notes of the cologne.
White musk and a somewhat boozy galbanum open up this creation, with the drydown adding a light and fairly bright rose impression, which is mixed with the musk.
At first the scent can appear quite shallow, but with time and more generous application the combination can be quite a rich, well-balanced and nuanced mix.
You should feel like you’re using a little too much cologne when applying this fragrance, in order to get a good degree of scent off you.
A white musk develops, pleasant and, interestingly, this one is not sweet and given a very discrete crisp-ish touch by a mossy undertone. The later phase adds geranium, and a gently boozy character.
The sillage is moderate, the projection very good and the longevity ten hours.
Overall it’s an agreeable light floral musk, with a lot of depth and complexity.
Perfectly suitable for warmer autumn days; it’s well-blended and whilst the core concept is not without an original twist, it’s a delectable and complex scent that you can wear daily and not get bored of anytime soon.
A scent that’s really quite perfect for a man like Brad Pitt. It’s relatively subtle, mysterious, and has the absolute essence of provocation. Brad Pitt couldn’t have picked a more fitting fragrance to wear.
Brad Pitt’s Scent Style
So as we can see from the combination of various flavors from Musk, Brad Pitt’s favorite scent style would range around the fresh and floral categories, opting in for lighter and bouncier scents instead of much denser flavors that you’d typically associate with masculine cologne like leather and woody flavors.
Luckily for us this means that there’s loads of different colognes that are similar to this one for you to try out.
Gucci Memoire D’une Odeur Edp Spray
Gucci’s Mémoire d’une Odeur is a fragrance for women and men that’s quite similar to that fruity composition that Brad Pitt enjoys. Mémoire d’une Odeur was launched in 2019, The nose behind this fragrance is Alberto Morillas.
The Top notes you really get from this are Chamomile and Bitter Almond; middle notes are Musk, Indian Jasmine and Jasmine; base notes are Sandalwood, Cedar and Vanilla.
So a big focus on that fresh and natural fragrance. It’s also fairly inexpensive, and is perfect for everyday use, especially in the sunshine.
Calvin Klein CK One
The flagship for Calvin Klein fragrances, this is another unisex fragrance that’s bursting with fresh and fruity scents. Launched in 1994.
CK One was created by Alberto Morillas and Harry Fremont with the aim of providing a scent that’s attractive for all, without being too eccentric.
Top notes are Lemon, Green Notes, Bergamot, Pineapple, Mandarin Orange, Cardamom and Papaya so you’re really hit with a burst of citrus; middle notes are Lily-of-the-Valley, Jasmine, Violet, Nutmeg, Rose, Orris Root and Freesia which returns us to those familiar fresh smells that we love; base notes are Green Accord, Musk, Cedar, Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Green Tea and Amber.
This is another perfect fragrance for everyday wear, especially during those hot summer months, and as it’s Calvin Klein’s leading fragrance, it’s relatively inexpensive, and is aimed at a younger demographic.
Abercrombie & Fitch Ellwood White Bergamot Eau De Parfum
Another flagship fragrance here, but this time for Abercrombie and Fitch, their Ellwood White Bergamot Eau De Parfum is another fragrance that’s perfect for everyday use, whilst retaining those key fresh features that Musk has.
This fragrance in particular is relatively simple in comparison to others, but perhaps that’s something that you appreciate, in which case the fragrance is littered with that clean linen scent of Ellwood, which in itself is a mixture of clean white musks, cut with a small amount of bright fresh citrus that we’ve seen through the rest of these fragrances.
There’s relatively little depth here compared to the other options, but if you’re a fan of long lasting fragrances that retain that same, fairly 2 dimensional smell, then Ambercrombie and Fitch’s Ellwood is a good go to for you.
With an Average length of being able to sit on your skin lasting roughly 10 hours, spray and go with this fragrance and forget about it. A crowd pleaser nonetheless.
Being the global superstar that he is, you’d imagine Brad Pitt to put a lot of time and effort into his appearance, and whilst this is of course true, occasionally the actor is known to take shortcuts and not be as hygienic as he possibly can be.
Whilst this isn’t the most ideal thing, Mr Pitt uses his fragrance to disguise any undesirable smells that may come off of him, and he chose a fragrance that reflects his own personality and features relatively well.
