Perfumes are more than just fragrances. Perfumes are about the whole experience of owning that specific perfume.
That includes the perfume bottle.
From an outside perspective, perfume bottles might not seem like something to fuss over. However, certain brands are known for their perfume bottles.
(Go check out Boadicea The Victorious “Blue Sapphire-Pure” for example)
Owning the bottle becomes just as important as using the perfume. So, when the perfume in that bottle runs out, it can be hard to part ways with the perfume bottle. Especially, if you’ve spent a lot of money on it!
Why Refill A Perfume Bottle?
Aside from saving a bottle that is extremely pretty, there’s also an environmental reason as to why you would save a bottle by refilling it.
There are a lot of refillable fragrances available these days. The idea with refillable fragrances is once the original bottle is empty, you would refill that bottle with a refill of the fragrance that comes in less packaging.
This means that you are wasting less but you are also helping to cut down the production of bottles. Also, by refilling a perfume bottle you are saving money as the price of the refillable fragrances is cheaper than the original perfume bottles.

Steps To Refilling A Perfume Bottle
Here are the simple steps on how to refill a perfume bottle.
Step One
The first thing you need to do in order to be able to refill the perfume bottle is to get rid of the cap of the bottle and get rid of the sprayer in the bottle. The cap should obviously just come right off.
To disassemble the sprayer from the bottle, you need to use the pliers. Grab the sprayer with the pliers and then start to move the bottle side to side (you will get more leverage that way).
This should start to loosen the cap sleeve of the sprayer from the bottle. You should continue this motion and gently pull on the cap sleeve of the sprayer on the bottle until the bottom of the sprayer can be seen by you.
Step Two
Now that you can see the seal of the sprayer, you can take the cap sleeve of the sprayer off completely. This is where it can get a little tricky.
There are two types of seals or bases of a sprayer, a metal and a plastic one. How easy this process is, depends on the type you have.
If the perfume bottle you are refilling has a plastic base then the process will be easy for you.
All you have to do to remove the plastic seal of the sprayer is get a pair of scissors and slide the sharp point of the scissors underneath the plastic seal. This should loosen the plastic seal, so you can pull it away from the glass.
Some plastic seals can seem more stubborn than others, so use the pliers to free them from the glass bottle. Do this by moving the pliers side to side and pulling the pliers up at the same time.
However, if the original perfume bottle has a metal seal, then this is harder to remove. In order to remove the metal seal, you need to get the pliers and start to wiggle the metal seal side to side.
At this stage, you need to be very gentle and careful with the amount of pressure you are applying. If you end up squeezing the pliers too hard, then you can crush the seal – making it impossible to use again.
After a while, you should notice the metal seal is starting to loosen, and it should slide out. The spray stem is usually connected to the plastic and metal seal.
Step Three
Grab your funnel and the perfume you are going to fill the bottle in. Place the funnel in the neck of the bottle and pour the perfume into the original bottle.
This is optional, you can simply pour from one bottle to the next if the mouth of the bottle is large enough. Nevertheless, a funnel can help make sure you don’t miss a drop.
It’s really easy to spill some of the perfume at any point – wiggling the bottle to get the sprayer out, while pouring… That’s why the paper towels are on the list!
Step Four
Now it is time to reseal the bottle. To do this you need to take your plastic or metal seal and put it back on the neck of the bottle. Then take the sleeve of the sprayer and place that on top of the plastic or metal seal.
The cap sleeve should screw onto the seal of the sprayer. Then add your cap back onto the sleeve, it should just slot back into place. The bottle should be refilled.
